Wordscapes Hard Levels Trainer

The 20 boards of the course, at a glance

Every board in the trainer above is a real level with a real difficulty flag, documented in the Wordscapes hard levels study along with the full dataset behind it. Here is what each one will throw at you, in course order.

Board 1: Level 14 (LOVED): The First Flag

HARD. Level 14 is the first time the game grades you: a hard banner drops before you even knew banners existed, and suddenly a five letter board wants eight words. LOVE, DOVE and OLD come fast. Then you swipe VOLE, real word, coin sound, nothing moves. Same for LODE and VELD. You end up staring at empty slots wondering what English could possibly be left, and it turns out to be the little words you skipped: ODE, DOE, LED. If it will not fall, the level 14 answers page carries the complete solution, bonus words included.

Board 2: Level 85 (SALIVA): First Super Hard

SUPER HARD. The first super hard banner of the whole game, and it earns it: six letters, a double A, and only seven required words hiding in them. You will spell SAIL, AVAIL and ALIAS, all valid, all bonus, all useless. The board wants VIAL, VISA and LAVA, then leaves you shuffling for the big one. If SALIVA does not click, nothing else on that wheel will finish this for you. Every word of it is listed on the level 85 answers page whenever you need the way out.

Board 3: Level 117 (DEVOID and VOIDED): The DEVOID Board

HARD. Straight off Google's own list of most searched levels. The rack spells DEVOID and the board demands both DEVOID and VOIDED, its own anagram. Ten of the eighteen words you can spell here are decoys. DIED, DIVED, VIED and DID all land in the jar. And when the first seven letter answer finally drops, the board asks you to rearrange the exact same letters again for the second one. The full board is broken down on the level 117 answers page, spoilers and all.

Board 4: Level 124 (MORGUE): Deep In The Search Cluster

SUPER HARD. A super hard flag sitting inside the stretch of the game people search the most, levels 91 to 155. Sixteen required words on one six letter rack. The short words flow, MUG, RUM, GEM, and the counter still says nine of sixteen. Then it wants OGRE, ROGUE and ROUGE as three separate answers, while GORE and GOER bounce to the jar in between. MORGUE arrives last, if it arrives. You can always fall back on the level 124 answers page for the complete word list.

Board 5: Level 145 (OUTCRY): The Blind Spot

OFFICIALLY EASY. Officially easy, yet it is the single most searched Wordscapes level on Google. The flags have blind spots, and the crowd found this one. Twelve decoys against eleven answers: TORY, YURT, TYRO and ROUT all feed the jar and move nothing. Meanwhile COURT hides in plain sight, and OUTCRY, the word you have been staring at the whole time, refuses to appear until the very end. The level 145 answers page has the whole solution if the decoys win the day.

Board 6: Level 155 (SERMON): End Of The Cluster

SUPER HARD. The last stop of Google's most searched cluster, and a proper super hard flag. Sixteen perfectly valid words here earn you nothing at all. You type OMEN, it bounces to the jar, then the board demands OMENS. Same trick with ORE and ORES. Singular or plural, one of the two is always the wrong one, and SNORE is exactly what you will feel like doing before SERMON finally lands. If it will not fall, the level 155 answers page carries the complete solution, bonus words included.

Board 7: Level 759 (BRAVADO): Desert Wall, Part One

HARD. Half of the only Desert wall pair still surfacing in Google searches eight years after the flags froze. The wall starts right here. You will find BOARD immediately, and it goes to the jar, because the game wants ABOARD and ABROAD instead, plus BROAD on top. Three near identical words, one letter apart, and around the fifth attempt your eyes stop telling them apart. Every word of it is listed on the level 759 answers page whenever you need the way out.

Board 8: Level 760 (SECRETE): Desert Wall, Part Two

SUPER HARD. The second half of the pair: BRAVADO, then this, back to back. A rack with three E letters that looks generous and plays like a locked door. CREST, ERECT and RESET go in fine. Then the board holds out for TERSE, STEER and SCREE, and SCREE is the one you will swear is not a word. It is, it is required, and the level will not end until you type it. The full board is broken down on the level 760 answers page, spoilers and all.

Board 9: Level 783 (TRAITOR): The No Mercy Stretch

SUPER HARD. Levels 780 to 784 are the longest stretch in the game with zero easy boards, five flagged levels in a row. This one sits in the middle of it. Double T, double R, and a minefield of near misses: RIOT, TRIO and TROT all bounce. The board wants IOTA, TAROT and TRAIT instead, then makes you dig out TOT and ROAR like it is teasing you. Fifteen words deep, TRAITOR starts to feel aptly named. You can always fall back on the level 783 answers page for the complete word list.

Board 10: Level 796 (CHRONIC): The CHRONIC Board

SUPER HARD. The most recycled super hard board in the game: 18 appearances, 18 flags, and it literally spells CHRONIC. CORN and IRON land early, then the two C letters wreck your instincts. HORN bounces, NOIR bounces, CONIC bounces. What the board actually wants is CROC, CHIC, CINCH and CONCH, four words you only try once everything normal has failed. The level 796 answers page has the whole solution if the decoys win the day.

Board 11: Level 1071 (SENSUAL): The Bonus Jar Trap

SUPER HARD. The purest bonus trap in all 18,000 boards: 12 required words against 24 valid words that pay you nothing. Two thirds of your correct answers will not move this board. LANE, LEAN, ELAN, LESS, LASS, SEAS, all real, all rejected into the jar with a cheerful coin sound. You will be certain the game is broken. It is not. It just wants UNLESS and UNSEAL, and it can wait longer than you can. If it will not fall, the level 1071 answers page carries the complete solution, bonus words included.

Board 12: Level 1110 (DEVIOUS): The DEVIOUS Board

SUPER HARD. This exact shuffle ships ten times across the game, super hard on every single appearance. The name is not a coincidence. The two killers hang off the edges of the grid: DOUSE holds on by the final S, VISE touches the board through a single E. Crossing letters are how you back into a word you do not know, and these two barely give you any. You either know them, or you meet the shuffle button. Every word of it is listed on the level 1110 answers page whenever you need the way out.

Board 13: Level 1144 (VERNAL): The Gauntlet, Board One

SUPER HARD. Board one of the Cliff gauntlet: nine super hard flags packed between levels 1144 and 1164, opening with three in a row. It starts with a vocabulary exam. Eighteen required words, and the last four are VENAL, RENAL, RAVEL and VERNAL. Words you have read once in a newspaper and never typed in your life. The friendly ones, LEARN and NAVEL, only carry you to fourteen. The full board is broken down on the level 1144 answers page, spoilers and all.

Board 14: Level 1145 (FAVOUR): The Gauntlet, Board Two

SUPER HARD. Gauntlet board two, straight after VERNAL. No breather between them, and that is the whole point of this stretch. You will type FAVOR and feel done. The board disagrees: it wants FAVOR and FAVOUR, the British spelling too, plus FORA, a plural of forum nobody has used since Rome. Three letters left on the wheel and your dictionary is already empty. You can always fall back on the level 1145 answers page for the complete word list.

Board 15: Level 1146 (LUGGAGE): The Gauntlet, Board Three

SUPER HARD. Gauntlet board three. Clear it and you have survived the nastiest run of levels in the entire game. Three G letters out of seven. The guess space collapses: after EGG, GAG and LEG you are down to words like GULAG, GAGGLE and GAUGE, and every one of them feels like a bluff until the board accepts it. The level 1146 answers page has the whole solution if the decoys win the day.

Board 16: Level 1248 (COMICAL): The CALICO Board

SUPER HARD. The CALICO board. CALICO is the most flag guaranteeing word in the game, 17 boards and 17 super hard flags, and an r/wordscapes moderator called it from memory before the data proved her right. COMIC and CLAIM land, COLA and COAL bounce, and the counter freezes around sixteen of eighteen. The last holdout is CALICO. If the fabric does not come to you, this board simply does not end. If it will not fall, the level 1248 answers page carries the complete solution, bonus words included.

Board 17: Level 1604 (DECIBEL): The DECIBEL Board

SUPER HARD. Home of CELEB: six appearances in the game, six super hard flags. Another moderator nomination the data confirmed. CELEB is a word you say out loud every week and will never think to swipe, because on a board it looks like a typo. You will clear BLEED, EDIBLE, even CEDE, then sit at eight of nine while the most everyday word on the rack hides in plain sight. Every word of it is listed on the level 1604 answers page whenever you need the way out.

Board 18: Level 1960 (GASEOUS): The GASEOUS Board

SUPER HARD. The board that demands GASES and OASES on the same grid. OASES is six for six on super hard flags across the entire game. You clear SAGE and AGES, your brain files those letters as spent, and the ES plurals never come. GASES, then OASES, one letter apart, both required, both invisible. A word can be common in speech and still be one nobody thinks to swipe. The full board is broken down on the level 1960 answers page, spoilers and all.

Board 19: Level 3050 (ANEMIC and CINEMA): The CINEMA Board

SUPER HARD. Recycled 17 times across the catalogs, super hard every single time. Only CHRONIC appears more often. Twenty words on six letters, and the two big ones are anagrams of each other: ANEMIC and CINEMA. In between, NICE and ANIME bounce to the jar while the board waits for MANIC and MINCE. By word fifteen you are turning the same six letters in your head like a combination lock. You can always fall back on the level 3050 answers page for the complete word list.

Board 20: Level 4548 (BASEMAN): The Final Boss

SUPER HARD. The final boss, and the study's favorite single case: to finish this board you must play both BAM and BAS. Yes, BAS. Twenty one valid words go to the jar here, BEAM, AMEN, NAMES, all of them. The board rejects everything reasonable while it waits for BAM, then BAS, a word that barely qualifies as one. Finish it clean, without a hint, and you have officially beaten the worst this game has to offer. The level 4548 answers page has the whole solution if the decoys win the day.

Every number in this guide comes straight from the game's own level data, scored with the same methodology as the study. Wordscapes is a registered trademark of PeopleFun; this trainer is an independent fan tool.

These are not practice grids. Every board below is a real flagged level, pulled straight from the Wordscapes hard levels study and playable exactly as it ships in the game. Learn each board with hints, replay it clean to unlock the next one, and watch the bonus jar fill up: on these levels, a third of your correct words earn you nothing. Twenty boards stand between you and the diploma, and the last one demands BAS.
