Who is behind Solving Wordscapes
Solving Wordscapes is an independent fan site run by Pop, an active player. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or operated by PeopleFun, the studio behind Wordscapes. The site publishes puzzles, Wildlife guides, Mt. Fortune guide, a live leaderboard and data studies, and player correction reports are reviewed whenever the game changes.
If you want to judge the work before quoting it, start with the two studies. One checked 18,000 boards to measure what actually makes a level hard instead of guessing. The other mapped the calendar behind the Daily Puzzle and found things PeopleFun never mentions.
Wordscapes in 2026, the short version
If you last looked at Wordscapes when it was a quiet crossword app, here is what changed. Any one of these can carry a story on its own.
- The game now runs like a live service. Weekly tournaments, recurring events and a collection meta sit on top of the classic levels, and the schedule repeats in patterns players have learned to plan around.
- The Wildlife collection has reached 67 animals and a new one arrives almost every month. August 2026 is Dog Month, so the current event animal is the German Shepherd, mapped level by level like the rest.
- Animal levels are being raised to a Level 10 cap wave by wave, egg group after egg group. The yellow egg animals are the latest to get it, and the Level 10 cap itself is confirmed by PeopleFun.
- The Daily Puzzle is not picked for you. It runs on a fixed table of 366 puzzles that repeats every year, with an April 1 prank written entirely backwards and a birthday week in June that holds the only 8 and 9 letter racks in the game. - Competitive play is serious. The top of the all time board passed 100 million points in 2026, and the site’s Integrity Watch has reported 14 suspicious accounts to PeopleFun so far, with 9 removed. Each month, a leaderboard report sums up the podium, the biggest climbers and the pace it takes to keep up.
Datasets you can reuse
The core dataset covers all 67 Wildlife animals: rarity, egg color, activity and sleep times, hearts, rewards and level by level stats. It is released under CC BY 4.0, so you can quote it, chart it or republish extracts as long as the source is credited.

Event timing is public too. The weekly posts in the Wordscapes calendar section list what runs each week, and the ICS feed at https://www.solvingwordscapes.com/wordscapes-events.ics drops the upcoming tournaments straight into any calendar app.
One more niche set: the Mt. Fortune climb advisor runs on 373 community tracked climbs and turns them into live risk estimates for the next step of the climb.

Sized for articles, free to reuse with credit. If you need another format, a transparent background or a chart built on a different cut of the data, ask.

Reuse and attribution
Numbers, charts and dataset extracts can be used in articles, videos and social posts. Credit Solving Wordscapes with a link the first time the data appears in your piece. In video, a spoken mention plus a link in the description is fine. The Zenodo DOI gives you a stable citation if your format needs one.
One honest caveat: this is community checked data about a live game. Numbers can change when PeopleFun ships an update, dated snapshots live in the dataset releases, and corrections go out when players report a change through the correction form on the site.
