Octopus or Capybara: what the numbers say
Octopus is an Epic star animal and Capybara a Rare one, but Octopus runs 4-hour activities and Capybara 8-hour ones. Octopus does 4 activities before its 24-hour sleep, Capybara 8. Finishing an activity early costs 1,800 coins with Octopus and 2,800 with Capybara. Per 30 minutes of activity at level 7, Octopus is ahead on both tournament stars (12.5 against 7.4) and heart gems (100 against 59.4). Capybara goes on to level 10, where it reaches 1,118 heart gems and 124 tournament stars per activity, a level Octopus cannot reach. Collected on time and counting the sleep, a level 7 Octopus makes about 240 tournament stars and 1,920 heart gems a day, against 271 and 2,439 for a level 10 Capybara, so per day Capybara comes out ahead on both. For tournament value, Octopus costs 18 coins per star and Capybara 23.73, which ranks them 3rd and 4th of the 16 star animals. Octopus is a token-hatched event pet, while Capybara hatches from the Blue Egg.
