The German Shepherd hatches from the Dog Month egg, the token-based system used for the other engagement pets like the Cow and the Octopus. The loop is simple: play normal levels, collect the green bone-shaped dog tokens that appear on the board, and watch them fill the egg’s progress bar. Completing each hatch stage grants smaller rewards along the way, and the German Shepherd hatches once the egg is full. After that, the tokens you keep earning level it up.
A few useful details straight from the game files:
- The token earn rate, meaning how many tokens you get per levels played, is set on the server for each event, so it can change from one event to the next.
- Once your German Shepherd is fully maxed, extra tokens are not wasted: they roll over into a separate bonus reward table.
- The game sends end-of-event reminders at 7 days, 3 days, and 1 day left, plus an extra nudge when your egg passes 80 percent, so it is hard to miss the finish line.
- Hatching the German Shepherd also unlocks the Dog Park background.

Leveling follows the standard event-pet ladder: 1, 3, 6, 11, 19, 34, 59 duplicates per level, which is 133 copies in total to reach max level 7. That is far cheaper than maxing any of the Level 10 egg animals, which need roughly 400 to 3,200 duplicates. These every other month critters are a real pain. most players hate them and many won’t even try to get them maxed.
It would be so much better if you just developed another egg and put all of the future critters in a new egg!

And PLEASE make the developers actually PLAY THE DAMN GAME! They don’t seem to have ANY IDEA of what it takes to play this game! So much of the new additions are just garbage that cause seizures, headaches, slows down the game, and heats up the phones, even phones that are only 2 years old!

You’re not alone on this.
Honestly, a brand new critter with the actual frequence is a relentless pace, and getting each one maxed in a small event window is a frustrating grind. What I’d love to see is a lighter upgrade path: fewer duplicates needed to level up, better conversion for the tokens, or more ways to earn those eggs through normal play. Any of those would take a lot of the pain out of it.
And on the German Shepherd specifically, I’ll be honest with you: its bonus is identical to the Pangolin‘s. If your Penguin is already leveled up, the Shepherd adds nothing new to your gameplay.
